Apple and Cinnamon Breakfast Bars ♥

Wake up to this wonderful aroma of apple's and cinnamon which to me has a winter feel to them . This would be so fun to make with the family or friends to  bond over what they did during this week. Taking time out of you day to use your hands cutting the butter in this recipe is very calming and relaxing for me.

what you would need

Crust and topping:
1/2 cup of flour
1/4 cup + 2 tablespoons of dark brown sugar
1 cup of quick cook oats
1/4 teaspoon of salt
1/2 cup of cubed butter
1 tablespoon of orange juice
Bar filling:
1 tablespoon flour
2 tablespoons of dark brown sugar
11 oz of sliced apple
1/2 tablespoon of orange juice
1 teaspoon cinnamon

Method
  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees gas mark 5 . Spray a 9x9 pan with cooking spray. Pour flour, sugar and salt into a blow and combine with a wooden spoon  .
  2. Cut butter into cubes to the mix .
  3. mix the butter  with your hands until its well has been incorporated into the crumb mixture. Add the oats and mix till  combine again. It will still look like a crumby mixture. At this point, remove 1/2 cup   of the mixture and set aside to use for the topping. Add 1 tablespoon of orange juice to mixture and mix till  combine .
  4. Pour the mixture from the food processor into the greased 9x9 pan. Press it into the pan evenly.
  5. To make the filling, combine the brown sugar, flour and cinnamon until incorporated and then add the sliced apple . Mix until all the apples are coated.
  6. Distribute the apples evenly onto the crust.
  7. Remember the crumb topping you set aside? You will be using it now. Sprinkle it over the apple .
  8. Before you put this in the oven, spray the top with cooking spray. Bake at 375 degrees gas mark 5 for 40-45 minutes. When I took this out of the oven, I let it cool for about 40 minutes since the fruit filling is very hot.
  9. Cut into bars. These can be stored in the refrigerator.
I  used apples for the filling , but these bars would work with a variety of berries or other fruits. Use what you have on hand.

Live a Healthy & Happy Life... 9 tips ! ♥

Hello my glamous friends I hope you all had a amazing Friday sometimes I wish the weekends could last a bit longer .  So you know the drill grab a cuppa or something to eat and I hope you enjoy my post .
Now I am no self help guru to be honest I don't know much about this topic however , I do know some of things that I've mention have worked for me . One of the reasons why I am doing this post is someone out there can find this useful . So lets get started .....
  1. Know your self worth : be confident and know your abilities now if you don't know how to go about this . I suggest you write down all the things that you like about yourself . Come up with a least five . what this will do is boots your confidence because I know we all have our insecurities and flaws that we really don't like about our self's . I think focusing on the thing that we admire about are self  will boot our confidence .   Just know that you have so many assets that make us beautiful and a unique . You have to be able to celebrate one or to of them .
  2. Feel Good Look Good : Now I've been in situation where I have feel down and sad about what has to me or around me . what I do is I pick out an outfit that I look stunning in , then I do my hair and makeup . After that I look in the mirror when your happy with your appearance you feel a little happy inside too . Now friends you should really take pride in your appearance because it does help boots you confidence as well .
  3. Exercise : If you are the type of person who overthinks things or over analyses things  and you feel there is a lot of negatively around you  . It's helps to exercise your getting yourself out of your head and into your body ( if that makes sense ) . Any type of physical activity you can run , dance or play football and the list is endless Also , and the end of that activity you feel good .
  4.  Stay well nourished : Try to have a balanced diet and drink plenty of water . if you don't like water why not try flavoured water and you can put fruits such as  watermelon and mint which tastes amazing . Its worth a try .
  5. Be around positive people : Trust me this it works , if your all ways around people who are it will bring you down too . Don't waste your time and energy them . Then surround  yourself with positive people and people who uplift you too .
  6. Change your environment : If you find everything around you irritating you what you van do is find a coffee shop or just walk to the park . When you tanking a Stoll in the park your away with your thoughts and you can think about what's happening this week for you . The perks of changing your environment is that you can meet new people and get to know a different area too .
  7. Give : Give some money or clothes to charity . You don't have to give all you money or clothes to charity a little goes a long way . When doing that you get this unexplainable feeling when you give charities But, it doesn't to be clothes nor money it could be you time . Go and help out that family member or friend . It just makes you feel good about yourself that you can make other people happy .
  8. Don't compare yourself : This is the most difficult one here because its so easy to compare yourself to someone . I think its that fastest way to put yourself down because you think why has he or she got this and I haven't . Just waste you time comparing yourself to other and just be happy with you
  9. Be thankful : Count your blessings just look around and be happy with the people and things around you . As humans we tend to dwell on the negatives and not on the things that make us happy  and thankful .
So guys that's my nine tips on how to live a healthy and happy life . I hope you enjoyed this post guys  but, what would number ten be for you ? I would love to know .

Chicken and Chorizo Paella ♥

Hello my glamous friends happy Monday ! Today I will should how to make the beautiful looking Spanish dish called paella . I think this  would be the perfect meal to start off the week  . So let's get started

Ingredients the you will need :
1-2 tbsp oil
12 whole chicken pieces (legs or thighs ) , on the bone .
1 chorizo sausage , sliced into 3mm thick slices .
1 large onion , finely chopped
3 garlic cloves , crushed
2 red pepper , seed removed , sliced
2-3 Red chillies , seeds removed chopped
2 tsp smoked paprika
1.5 litrespints chicken stock
400g paella rice
12 raw prawns , (optional ) cleaned
Handful parsley , roughly chopped

Preparation method
1. Preheat the oven to 180C/ 350F/ Gas4 .
2. Heat the oil in the a large , lidded heatproof pan or a paella pan . Fry the chicken until the pieces are evenly browned turning them regularly as cook . You may need to do this in two batches , depending on the size of the you pan . Remove the chicken from the pan and set aside .
3. Fry the slice of chorizo in pan until crisp . They will release their juices into the pan , which adds a lot of flavour to the dish . Add the onion to the pan , and cook gently until soft , then add the garlic and cook gently until , then add the garlic and smoked paprika , cook for another 2-3 minutes . Return the chicken pieces to the pan and pour in the stock . Simmer gently for 20 -25 minutes until the chicken is tender .
4. Add the rice to the pan cover with the preheated oven . Cook for 30 minutes , or until all the liquid has been absorbed and the rice is cooked . Alternatively , if using a paella pan which won't fit in the oven , cover tightly with foil and continue cooking on the stove over a low hear for the same cooking time . If using prawns , add them to the pan for the final 10 minutes cooking time . Check the chicken is cooked by piercing the thickest part of a pieces with a skewer - if the juices run clear the chicken is cooked .
5. Sprinkle with parsley before bringing the pan to the table .
Enjoy x

Hello my glamous friends I hope you are all enjoying your week so far , wow is it just me but this week has flown by .   Now I've seen this all over internet and really wanted to try it also , I wanted to do a baking post because I've not done this  in a while . This bread is not just beautiful to look at its absolutely delicious , let me tell you our inner carb demon would love this #sorrynotsorry and I know you would love this too .

The ingredients you need are basic they are :

1 Package of Dry Yeast
1/2 cup oWhole Milk
1/4 cup of Granulated Sugar
1/2 cup of Water, warmed up to 115 degrees
1 tsp of Salt
1/4 cup of Unsalted Butter, melted
3-1/2 cups of self raising flour About
 1 cup of Nutella

Method
1) In a small bowl, add the water, yeast and 1 tsp of the sugar. Set aside for 5 minutes.

2) In the bowl of a standing mixer fitted with the
dough hook attachment or you could mix with your hands , mix together the flour, remaining sugar and salt.

3) Add the melted butter, milk and yeast mixture, mix it until it comes together, then with the speed on medium, let it knead for about 7 minutes or until you have a smooth dough.

4) Place the dough into an oiled bowl, cover with plastic wrap and place it a warm spot to rise and double in volume, about an hour.

5) Divide your dough in half, roll it out to about 10” rectangle, smear the surface with some of the Nutella and roll it tightly like a jelly roll starting from one of the longer sides.

6) Cut the loaf in half lengthwise (the inside will be exposed) and roll it in a two strand braid making sure to pinch the top and bottom ends to seal it, place it on a parchment paper lined baking sheet and repeat the same process with the other half of the dough.

7) Cover them loosely with a kitchen towel and place them somewhere warm to rest for about half an hour, meanwhile, preheat your oven to 350 degrees or gas mark 5 .

8) Bake the bread for about 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown all around, allow to cool and dig in!!

The Perfect Bread Dough

Good morning my glamous friends and happy Monday . Today's post is all about making the perfect dough because there is no greater pleasure than when your dough comes out perfect , and hopefully if stick to this recipe your dough will come out stunning .

Ingredients
  • 2 1/2 cups warm water
  • 2 tbsp instant yeast
  • 1/2 cup honey or Sugar
  • 6 cups strong flour or self raising  (half wheat works ok too)
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 3 tbsp. Full fat milk

Instructions
  1. Start by sprinkling 2 tablespoons of yeast over 2 1/2 cups of warm water–  hot tip think of  this as a warm bath water this should be about perfect. THE WATER SHOULD NOT BE HOT YOU WILL KILL THE YEAST . Then add sugar or honey ( this will feed the yeast and help it to grow )
  2. Let the yeast rest for about 5 minutes. You’ll know it’s ready when everything looks nice and foamy also it should have the smell of beer .
  3. Meanwhile, add the flour, salt, and dry milk to your stand mixer and attach the bread hook.
  4. Pour the yeast water into the stand mixer with the flour, salt, and dry milk . Knead until dough starts to form, and then another 7 minutes beyond that. You can also do this part with  your hands .
  5. Use well floured hands (and sometimes a pinch or two of flour into the bowl if you feel like the dough is still too sticky) and work the dough into a ball.
  6. Lift the dough and give it a quick spray of non-stick cooking spray underneath and around the sides of the bowl. Replace the dough, cover with cling film ( if you don't it will develop a skin on the top which is hard to work with)   , and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size.
  7. Punch the dough ( this will let any excess air come out of the dough )   and divide it into two even portions. Form each into a loaf shape and place the loaves into parchment lined (or lightly greased) bread loaf pans.
  8. COVER AND LET RISE A SECOND TIME, UNTIL DOUBLED IN SIZE (I can't express how  important that is )
  9. Bake at 365 degrees F for 27-30 minutes  , gas mark 5 Over-baking will dry out the bread.
  10. Let cool for 10 minutes before removing to counter top (do not let cool completely in loaf pan or the bottom will become nice and doughy ).
  11. Makes approximately 20 slices (2 loaves)
